We are a father and son duo in the East Bay hamlet of Pinole. Our family has proudly served the fiber arts community since 1970!
We have everything you need to get from fiber to shawl: fleece, equipment, and education. Our Good Clean Fiber program provides washed (ready to process) fleece, we are known throughout the world for our fiber preparation equipment, and we regularly instruct and consult on fiber preparation for hand spinning.
Our equipment is designed and built in our woodshop. Our fiber comes from ranches across Northern California and is skirted, washed, and packed in our shop.
Featured Product and Workshops
Sample the Northern California Fibershed with this collection of washed wool. This sampler includes two ounces each of six different breeds, with each sample sourced from a different ranch in our Fibershed.

The inside of the sampler box contains a listing of each breed and the ranch it came from along with a map of the location of each ranch. Featuring fine, medium, and coarse wools, this sampler represents both the breadth and quality of wool grown in Northern California.
The 12 ounces of washed wool includes: Cormo, Romney, Merino, Wensleydale, Rambouillet Crossbreed, and Merino Crossbreed.
Hand Cards are an essential tool for any hand spinner or felter. These Cotton Cards have 120 teeth per inch and are ideal for relatively short, relatively fine fibers such as those from Cormo and Merino sheep. A turned handle tenoned into a curved back makes these Hand Cards both ergonomic and heirloom-quality workhorses. While slightly heavier than our standard maple handle and alder back version, the wood for these Pacific Yew Cotton Cards was grown, harvested, and milled in Northern California and are available exclusively through the Fibershed Marketplace.
